Easter 2010

Rubye Mae’s first Easter was wonderful.  Unfortunately we had another trip to VCH the next Wednesday.  Luckily, she was only there for a day and has been feeling better since she came home.  Rubye also attended her first church service the week before Easter as you can see in the pic below with Rubye in the green dress.

Rubye Mae’s First post

Rubye Mae has been at VCH since Thursday.  She was diagnosed as having bronchiolitis.  She required some oxygen support, but it was really only necessary when she slept.  However being sick made her breath really fast which would make her tired.  This was also a problem with her eating.  At first she was having a hard time taking more the about an 1/2 oz of formula (generally she takes about 5 oz).

She started off with a cough and it just became more frequent so we took her to see a doctor in Columbia.  She recieved orders for breathing treatments, but the doctor said it may or may not help and to keep our appointment with Rubye’s regular pediatrician.  The next day Dr. Broadway saw her and Rubye’s oxygen saturation was down, so she wanted to admit her in a hospital.  So we ended up coming to Vanderbilt.

Rubye Mae was able to see several of her friends while at VCH.  Maybe we can see everyone without being admitted in the hospital next time.

Rubye Mae will be 9 months soon and Mommy has already made it clear it is time for some more pictures.

I haven’t updated Rubye Mae’s Page in a while.  The first picture is Rubye’s first trip to the beach.  We went to her Great Grandmother Rubye’s 90th birthday in Pensacola.  While we were there Emily insisted that we take at least one picture at the beach.  It was real cold, so we were only there for about 5 seconds.  The next picture is Rubye Mae on the horse her daddy made her.  She’s a little small for it, but she enjoyed it.

Rubye Mae has been doing great since we have been home.  She was sick for the first time since we have been home on Monday.  We carried her to the Vandy ED and she had a stomach virus.  They said to just watch her and make sure she doesn’t get dehydrated.  Rubye was feeling better about a day or so later.  Unfortunately I got what Rubye had a couple of days later.

Since my last post, Rubye Mae has started eating rice, oatmeal, fruits and vegetables.  She really enjoys the pears.

Well Rubye went to Vanderbilt last week for another appointment.  She has a hernia at her bowel surgery incisions.  It does not pose any major problems at this time so she will wait to have it operated on till she is a year old.  Other than that Rubye has done very well at home.

Rubye Mae has had two quick photo shoots since the last post.  Some of you may recognize Santa.  The first shoot was with Santa and the second shoot Rubye is sitting in an old egg crate and rocker.

I reduced the number of posts on the front page, so maybe it will load better for everyone.  I am sure we will do some more before Christmas.

Rubye Mae’s Celebration Tea was today.  Due to Rubye’s early arrival, Emily never had a baby shower.  Daddy kept Rubye during the party.  Bekah took the pictures at the party.  I will probably add a few more from the Tea later.  Emily and I appreciate everyone who was involved with the Tea.  We also appreciate the gifts and all that has been done on our behalf.  Rubye Mae has some Christmas pictures tonight as long as everything turns out as expected.
